Save-the-date Magnets: I think they’re the way to go. You’d be surprised, but people really do keep them up after the wedding, which is fun to see.
Candles for the pews: Holy beatiful.
Hair like Marcia’s: You could pull it off, and I hate you for that (kidding).
Candle centerpieces: Elegant.
I miss planning a wedding

I love them allllllll. The wedding invitations look exactly like the type I’d pick out- They’re modern, but stil classy. And the candles at the end of the pews and as centerpieces? They’re gorgeous.
I have a friend who’s getting married in Rhode Island (she went to the same college as you too) and she’s using old boating lanterns around the venue as a decoration.

I think it’s all gorgeous!
And while I like the hair and think it would look great on you, I would be cautious of doing anything different before the wedding. Even a bad dye job can be stressful.

I love! I would expect nothing less than hair like that from you. I’m going to have my hair loose too, I think, only mine will be much shorter.
And we are definitely going to incorporate candles into our centerpieces. I never thought of using them as pew decorations too, but that’s a great idea! And the invitations are gorgeous (and I bet especially so in red).
The only thing I’m not sold on is magnets for save-the-dates. I know they’re all the rage right now and they do make sense. It just feels slightly presumptuous to me, to assume that your guests will all want your save-the-date on their fridge. Not saying that you are being presumptuous–I seriously considered them, too. But couldn’t quite bring myself to do it. Also, they’re probably more expensive to mail? Just a thought.

Candle on the pews would make me nervous that one would get knocked over or something and the whole place would go up in flames. But I might just be overly worried about fire.
The invitations, love love love. The hair, love love love. The save the date magnets, might be just an extra expense you don’t really need, but it is a super cute idea. And did I mention I love the hair and initiations?

Yes! on the save the date magnets. Love them.
Candles on the pews–legal in RI? Just wondering, you know. Might be a little stressful. Lanterns instead?
Links to hair and invites, please?

Candles for the pews would be absolutely lovely, as long as nobody knocked one off or accidentally got their dress too close to the flame. Centerpieces with candles would also be lovely.

We did candle centerpieces and it was beautiful AND more cost effective. I totally support the use of many many candles at weddings. The magnets are super cute, too, but with the caveat that not all fridges these days actually take magnets- our stainless-finish fridge is mysteriously non-magnetic- so it wouldn’t work for everyone.

I love the Save the Dates. And also, the hair, which you pretty much have already, and it is fantastic.

save the date magnets are awesome! i STILL have my friend’s magnet from her wedding 2 years ago hanging on my fridge.
also … invitations… designer friends…? i work cheaply

You can do save-the-date magnets cheaply, too. If you know someone that can create a pdf design for you, you can upload it to vistaprint.com and get them printed there. The maget is really thin, which I didn’t like, so I bought magnets the size of business cards (which was the size of my save-the-date) and put the printed magnet on the sticky side of the business card magnet, if that makes sense.
No extra postage to send them, either, and I just included a card with it that had hotel and travel information.

save the date: love
candles for the pews: uh. not so much. my BFF R had grapevine balls with white twinkle lights in them for aisle markers. same effect, no fire. check it.
hair: love
invites: not loving, but no good reason for the not loving.
candle centerpieces: did it! at my wedding (nearly eight years ago!), we had tapers with globes and then we put rings of roses and ivy around the bottom. got lotsa compliments.

i can take commands well. and when it’s the lovely miss molly doling them out? well, of course. discussing will now commence:
i love the candle centerpieces, candles down the pews and the damask invitations. i think candles provide just the right - well, for lack of a better word? - ambience for pretty much everything; depending on the situation, it can add romance or seriousness or fun or depth or a touch more meaning. and most importantly, they’re beautiful. (then again, i’m the girl who used candles at my roommates and my luau bash last January and thought it looked awesome so maybe i like candles a bit too much.) for the church ceremony, i think it’d give it a wonderful ’softened’ feel. and the candle centerpieces at the reception are just gorgeous. i think you mentioned an october wedding? the candle centerpiece also seems very seasonal.
i love the invitations - they’re striking/eye-catching; have a feeling of whimsy / old world romance; and look original. or at least, not standard or typical. (i really am starting to think i need to stop talking so much because what do i know about wedding planning other than having watched the wedding planner starting matthew mcconaughey and j-lo more times than i’d like to admit?).
the magnets are such a cute idea but like pseudostoops mentioned, some fridges may not be magnet friendly - stainless finish fridges do appear to be non-magnetic (mine is too, anyway). but this may be a neglible detail? since there are other surfaces that are magnetable.
the hair is beautiful - and i think most of us readers know how amazing you look with the wavy/curled hairstyle =) a lot of it would probably depend on the dress, right? and someone refuses to show the dress so … i can only say that my opinion is a not entirely informed one. (i kid, i kid - i understand and support completely your decision for not posting the dress here!)

I love the idea of candle centerpieces! I am planning on doing the same thing. My reception venue is already filled with candles, so I think that candle centerpieces will look awesome. Plus it seems pointless to spend so much money on flowers for ONE day…crazy!
Love the hair and the invites too. I wanted to do save the date magnets, but I couldn’t find any that I really loved. The ones you found are so cute!
What will all of us newly engaged chicas do once we are married and have nothing to plan?!? Haha.

Candles as centerpieces are fantastic! It gives the romantic vibe and provides a necessary source of lighting. There is so much you can do with them - and it is easy on the budget!
Love the magnets. People use them and they are very personable

Pews, centerpieces, all of it.
Also love the invitations in red.

Love them all except for the candles on the pews. If people are bringing kids over, it could be dangerous. Especially to your dress. The candles as centerpieces would be fantastic though. We had them at our wedding - floating candles and petals.

Love it all!
I based my invitations off of the same designer (I think) you have there - I love all their stuff!
As for the magnets - no one is forcing your guests to put them on their fridges. We saw our STD postcard on fridges everywhere we went - so I think it’s a great idea if you want to put the time/money into it.

love the magnets. We did them and since I am such a raging narcissist I love the idea that my face is gracing fridges all over the country!
The hair? Fierce. The candles? Economical and pretty! The invites? Chic and modern.
Love it all.

Save the Date Magnets = Excellent! I still have several on my fridge from weddings that took place well over a year ago. My favourite is one that has a photo of the bride and groom being silly together.
Candles on Pews = pretty, but I share everyone’s worry of things catching on fire. Your dress, for example…
Candle Centerpieces, on the other hand = beautiful!
And I love the invitations. Very classy!

We did save-the-date magnets, and everyone seemed to love them and I still see them on friend’s fridges! I wasn’t sure, but now I highly recommend them.
Everything else is beautiful too - candles seem to always bring things to life! Enjoy the planning too (which it sounds like you are) - it all goes so fast that day!

I considered the magnet thing too, but nixed it for cost reasons.
Candles on the pews, would be way cool, but I’d be concerned about burns, fire and the church might have issue with it as well, despite their use of candles on the alters. Maybe in the windows instead?
Candle center pieces, would be fab! If you can find inexpensive holders and what not, those might drive up the price. Do we notice my theme of concern here? Cost…………
And invites, very nice. I’m gald you said red cause the orange is kinda fug……
As for the hair, me likey.

Okay, the former wedding person in me needs to caution against the lanterns. They look beautiful, but there are a couple of issues. First, they get awesomely hot and will burn people who go near them. They will also singe anything nearby, like flowers, and I’m assuming the paint on the pews. This seems to ring true for all metal lanterns. They also get so hot that they melt the candle 10 times faster than usual. If you were to do this, I would recommend burning several candles in them before you use them because when you first light a candle up in a metal lantern they can sometimes smoke and smell really, really bad.
I had a handful of weddings use lanterns for a variety of things and I have to caution you against it unless you use the battery operated votives. Everything else I love!

What beautiful ideas you have!
We actually opted against save the dates… invitations, thank yous, and programs got so expensive, it just seemed like the thing to cut out since almost everybody knew about the wedding through word of mouth anyway. But if you do use them, I think magnets are a really great way to go.
And I love, love, love those invitations and am a huge fan of candle decor
Oh my GOSH, I miss wedding planning!!

Not feeling the invitations. I got like 3 invitations of that style for weddings last year and…they sort of looked cheap. I was not a fan.

i’m not a fan of save the date magnets because i think they are a bit of a waste of money. I love the invitations - although anne is right in that the style is extermely popular and everywhere right now. but if you love it, that is what is most important.
everything else i love.

Magnets are cool as an idea, just because their so convenient… but for a wedding? Style >> efficiency.

1. I love the Save the Date magnets– I have all the ones I receive on my fridge, and I love to look at them when I’m getting something to drink. Also? A good reminder to put down the ice cream, since everyone who looks at them will remember that they have to fit into pretty dresses soon! But I would totally use your and Michael’s names instead of Shawn and Alice! =)
2. The pew candles are really pretty, and I’ve never seen them before, but I would be SO worried about having my dress brush against them while walking up the aisle, and turning into the Human Torch on my wedding day. Aaaah!
3. Hair = gorgeous! And it’s similar to how you wear your hair normally, just a little more dressed up, so you’ll feel comfortable and glamorous, all at the same time!
4. Those invites are fab! ‘Nuff said.
5. I LOVE love love the candle centerpieces. And, unlike the ones for the pews, I would be less worried about fires.
YAY! It’s all going to be gorgeous!!!

I love the candles for the pews! It will illuminate you in a pretty glow as you make your walk down the aisle - very nice touch.
Candle centerpieces are a great inexpensive way to dress up a reception hall - esspecially in the fall when it gets darker earlier. You can mix in your colors (with pillar candles in your colors, or tealights in your colors, or a mix of both) and add touches like the petals shown in the picture, or colorfull flat glass “vase gems” (http://www.save-on-crafts.com/glassvasegems1.html) or place mirrors underneath the candles for extra sparkle and glow.
Your wedding is going to be beautiful! Can’t wait to see pictures.

The candles are cute, but I haven’t seen your venue place, so I don’t know how they would look. The hair? I guess I’d have to see it on you before I could decide.

save the date magnet - love it.
candles on the pews - i wouldn’t do it. i was recently at a wedding where someone knocked over a pew-candle with their purse strap, shattering the glass and sending water everywhere (triple whammy - candles, glass, water). the wedding was 15 minutes late while people cleaned up the mess (it was in the middle of the aisle, so it was rather important to clean right away - and very obvious to the waiting crowd.)
invite - lovely, sophisticated.
hair - not sure b/c i haven’t seen the dress. but it is a pretty ‘do!

Um, yeah. What to add? What to add? I don’t get the entire save the date notion, so i have no feeling on that. love the candles/lanterns (good point, anna). ditto the centerpiece and marcia’s got nothin’ on you.

i love the candle centerpieces, if you go with yellow, will you also consider adding something silver (like little beads) or a silverish table cloth?
i also love the candles on the pews….. before everybody mentioned about the danger. but i really think it would look great in pictures, colored or black/white.
hair down is the way to go, it also suits well with your personality and your age (i’m guessing). your pics will always look hip for years to come.
neutral about the invitation. but have to say i’m not a big fan of save-the-date-magnet. maybe i’m old school. i just think it’s too “me-me-me”. i know it’s a once in a life time event and one should do whatever he/she wants and share the excitement, but when it comes to anything to do with “others”, i tend to be more subtle and cautious. ….. hope you don’t mind me being honest

Love them all. Save the Date magnets are great! I have also received some “Wish you were here” postcards that were save the dates, beautiful as well.
The hair is absolutely perfect. My momma always says that you should look like you on your wedding day, only better.
Love the invitations, agree with weveryone else on those. Very modern but elegant at the same time.
And I love the candles the best. I really think they will bring a warm glow.

Save the Date Magnets: Yes! I use ‘em when I get ‘em….they’re on the fridge next to my calendar.
Candles for pew: I share the fire hazard concern, plus I don’t know if you’ll be having small children at your wedding, but my nephew would love to get his hands on those…
The Hair: Down is the way to go if you’re getting married inside… I had an outdoor ceremony in FL & the wind was outrageous, I had no choice but wear it up!!
Invitations: Approved. A little fresh & funky, but sophisticated.
Centerpieces: Love ‘em! Classic & beautiful.

I never even thought of the magnets. That is a really great idea. I also like the invitations. Red will be really pretty. TO be honest, I think the candles in the pews are a really romantic touch. But can I suggest something? Have you looked into these type of candles? Here is a link :
http://www.sharperimage.com/us/en/catalog/product/sku__NI520MED
They are a little pricety but you place them all over your home after you use them for your wedding. Just a thought. It will still give that romantic flare without a fear of fire. Plus, if you look around some more you can probably find a better deal than this one. I have even seen some that are scented… Just a thought. Best of luck!

I’ve never received any save-the-date things (I think it’s more a US thing than an Australian thing), so I’m eh on the magnets.
I love the candles on the pews - gorgeous! Especially in those cute little containers - tell your Mum it totally removes the fire risk
The candle centerpieces are beautiful as well. The more candles, the better. So romantic and pretty.
The invitation is cool, very sophisticated, and I love the hair, especially if you have a strapless dress.

To add to the gushing that is already on here:
Gorgeous for the invite and gorgeous for the hair. Also, “Discuss…”: excellent directive. It made me laugh. I don’t know if there’s as much discussion going on here as just plain gushing
Lovely! Especially the candles. I adore candlelight. Also, I had never heard of magnet save-the-dates before, but that is actually a really good idea. It will be on the fridge in front of their eyes until (and most likely long after) your wedding. Most people would put the invitation on the fridge by magnet anyway. This saves a step

You have excellent taste - no surprise there. And I’m sure that, no matter how you wear your hair, it will be beautiful.
A bit of advice I received before my wedding, when I was thinking about how to wear my hair: Think timeless, not trendy.
Think of all those brides from the 1980’s who looked stunning on their wedding days. But now, as they view their pictures, they hang their heads in shame.
Love the candles for the pews! If there are windows, think about candles there, too.

you can not buy the little tea light “fake” candles. They look the same, but no fires, so you could put them inside the little lanterns and no one would have to worry about calling the local fire department.
There’s a little push button to turn them on and off AND for the most part, I don’t think anyone would even notice!

Only advice I have to add is the same stuff I said to Sara M before she got hitched. And I know it makes no sense until you’ve been married forever…
It is only one day of the rest of your life.
Make it special however you want it, girl.
And I totally want to see those invitations when we visit. V. cool.
But of course, everything you do is v. cool.

Absolutely LOVE the damask invites. Where ever did you find them?
