But omigod how snackable are these?

We talk about our future a lot. The future after the wedding. When we will look for a new home. (Great time to buy, but will our house sell?) And of course, when we will have children.
There’s no definite, but there’s an idea of a time. I can assure you that I’m not baby obsessed. At least not yet. I’m sure I will at some point, but for now I’m looking forward to becoming a wife and enjoying some time as a married couple.
I think I’ll be a good mom. I have no doubt Michael will be a good dad. I think it’s something some people were meant for and every time I hold a little peanut of a baby I know that I am one of those people.
I have a very strong gut feeling my first child will be a boy. I’ve felt it for years. When the time comes we both agreed we want to be surprised. It will be all yellows and greens until the actual birth day. But I’ll tell you, if I have a girl first, I’ll be SHOCKED.
Unbelievably happy.
But completely and totally shocked.
Can you have mother’s intuition long before you’re even pregnant?

I always knew from the time I was a young girl that if I ever had a child-it would be a girl. Sure enough-7 years ago I was blessed with an amazing little girl!!

The other day I had my first “I want to get pregnant” thought. I mean, I’ve always wanted kids but this was the first time I actually was like “I’m ready”
Albeit, this was a very fleeting moment. It took as long to erase that thought from my head as it did to form in the first place.
Baby steps, I guess…haha pun so intended

Yes! I think one can experience mother’s intuition in advance of actual motherhood.
Just last week I dream I had a child (a baby boy). It’s the first “I’m a Mom” dream I’ve experienced and it felt so real. My husband and I got married 4 years ago but he’s not sure he wants kids. It’s tough.

My whole life I’ve KNOWN my first will be a girl.
It will be a very weird/hard moment for me if I find out it’s a boy. I’ll have to get used to it! (Obviously i won’t be MAD, it will just take a while to adjust a lifetime of expectations!!)
Not in a rush either . . . for sure.

Rob and I had his 2 year old niece and 4 year old nephew stay with us for the weekend. BEST BIRTH CONTROL EVER! They are wonderful children, but we were exhausted. That is many many years in the future!

I have always said I wanted boys, but have ALWAYS felt that my first will be a girl . I’ve felt this way for as long as I remember. It will be interesting to see if I’m right!

Hellllooooo!!!!! Hi, are we the same person? We’re stocked up on yellows and greens for now and I do think it’s a boy and if it’s a girl I think I will be shocked, too! Either way, I’m anxious to meet him or her. Do enjoy married life for a bit. I know you’ve been with Michael a while and I was with my husband for a while before getting hitched, so one may wonder why you wouldn’t start a family right away, but it’s important to build the foundation of your marriage, first, in my opinion and live it up before a little one enters the picture.

Wellll, every mother has the same 50/50 chances of being right…=)
I’m happy for couples who just *know* having kids is the right choice for them. As for me: “NO kids!!!” I can always change my mind because I don’t know what my life will be like in a few years, but I doubt I will.

What is it about babies that makes you want to nibble? I get the same urge everytime I see a baby. Can someone explain this phenomenon to me?

I’ve heard diet (particularly breakfast) has a lot to do with the gender of your children. If you are a breakfast-skipper or a coffee-for-breakfast kind of a girl, you might find yourself shocked.

I think it’s totally possible – I have always had the feeling I’ll have a girl first. I know I want kids, but I have no illusions about how much work they are, and I know I am not ready for them yet. I like lazy Saturdays too much – definitely still a little too selfish for kids. But someday, I’m going to be a great mom.

I wanted a boy, followed by a girl within 2 years. But we were blessed with a girl first. And yes, I think you can have that motherly instinct before becoming a mother. It just intensifies a billion-fold once the little one(s) arrives. Hubs and I enjoyed a good 11 months before getting pregnant, which was perfect for us. Now we love our lives as mommy and daddy to LO!

I’m so with you, I want the sex of our child to be a surprise. Luckily, I love yellow and green so it works out perfectly!
P.S. I want a girl so badly that I swear we will only have boys. Which I’m sure I’ll be totally over the moon about, but still, who will I take shopping?

i used to ONLY want to have boys, i dreaded the thought of having a girl. knowing what a brat my sister and i were growing up i was always afraid my chilren would be as much trouble. and then my first neice arrived and now ALL i want is a little girl. if i don’t get one i may have to trade with my sister because she’s a girl-havin’- machine

LOL, Cute picture. I just posted about my lack of maternal instinct yesterday on my blog. Having a pregnant friend is a great form of birth control for me these days.

I totally belive you can have intuition beforehand. One time I went to a psychic at a fair and she told me, “You’ll have thre ekids like your mom, only there will be two girls and one boy. You’ll be the opposite.” I haven’t even sat down yet when she told me this. I have two brothers!

Wait till that tiny ring of platinum gets placed on your finger – I swear it releases baby toxins and makes you want one immediately… and then you snap to your senses. No, I’m not trying.

Um YES. At least you’re engaged. I’m where you are and there isn’t even a ring on my finger. Also, babies are totally snackable, I love it.

awwww, those are so cute. Unfortunately, when I look at that picture, I see nothing but sleepless nights and me, rocking back and forth, wondering when my husband is coming home from his business trip. I love babies, but when hubby is OOT, I swear I’m about to lose it.

Like you, I’ve always thought I would have a boy first. When we got pregnant, we didn’t find out if we were having a boy or a girl (which it’s so much fun when the baby is born, so I encourage all my friends not to find out – BUT I understand wanting to find out – I’m completely Type A and it surprised many people that I didn’t want to know). The entire pregnancy, I was sure it was a boy. We had a girl. I was completely shocked and still was for several days after she was born…it took a little while to get used to, but now I want all girls!

I don’t know much about a mother’s intuition, but I know that I’d like a boy first.
That’s an incredibly cute picture.

OhGod those chubby baby feet are adorable! I lovve fat babies.
And you can totally have a mother’s intuition before you’re a mom, I have it with my sister.
You’ll be a super duper great mom.

I visited my cousins new baby yesterday and just wanted to eat him! I know what you mean about baby obsession. I too am not baby obsessed but it doen’t mean a girl can’t have her moments of “awwww”.

OK….I am totally late commenting here, and I dont even know if you will get an old comment, but I have just discovered your blog and have been catching up in the archives! I think it is totally possible to have mother’s intuition beforehand. I am expecting my first little one in March and I have always thought it would be a boy. We did not wait because I was dying to know and I was right. We are having a boy! Its very exciting!
