Tonight I’m packing up the car and heading to New York for my baby shower! I am beyond exciting to spend the afternoon with important women in my life, and it will be fun to see my family get their hands on the belly.
Now I have a quick technical question for you tech savvy people out there — we received a camcorder for Christmas and I’m excited to use it for baby, but I don’t like the movie maker program that comes with it. The files download to my computer as MP4 files, which I have no experience with.
I don’t mind using Windows Movie Maker, but it’s not compatible with MP4 files. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have an HP laptop with the Vista operating system, so I either need a movie editing program that is compatible with MP4 files, or a converter that will easily change them to a file that Windows Movie Maker can use.
Can anyone help?
Happy weekend!

I have used http://media-convert.com/ before for stuff at work. You just browse and find the file on your harddrive that you want to convert and then you select what kind of file you want it to convert to (it’s called output format – below the ad). And then you click ‘ok’ and the magic happens! I’ve used it to convert mp4s into mp3s. Not sure what kind of file you’re looking to convert to, but there are a bunch of choices so hopefully something will work? Anyway, give it a shot – it’s free!
Have a great time at your shower! I’ll need to hear about all the adorable baby stuff you get.

One I’ve used to convert in the past is a program called “Hand Break” – might work if the other two links mentioned don’t.
Have fun @ your shower! It goes by so quickly!
