As much as I’d like to point you all to the Challenge page this week and rave about everyone’s results…I can’t. Because you see, I spent a very.long.time. updating it and when I hit publish, the whole thing went blank. I tried to retrieve it to no avail, and I have no idea how current the version is that’s up there now.
There was some yelling.
So this week, please leave your results in the comment section of this post instead of emailing me. Check back frequently during the day to see how everyone is doing. If you did email me already and wouldn’t mind reposting here, that would be great. And next week — our FINAL WEIGH-IN OMIGOD — I will make sure we are current.
It doesn’t look like I’m going to make my goal of a 5 lb. loss in four weeks. I’m down another half-a-pound this week, but I’m not dropping as quickly as I thought I would. I’m pretty much OK with it though, because what I am achieving is a healthy routine that includes regular exercise and healthy eating. So if I keep it up, I assume eventually I will lose those full 5 lbs. I hope!
Tonight I’m starting a new group exercise class that I’m excited about. I hear that the class changes every week so it doesn’t get stale and it’s an hour and a half, three times a week. I hope I can make it through!
I wanted to share with you a healthy Mediterranean-style meal I made for dinner last night. It was so tasty, I almost forgot we were eating so healthy.
Make a salad of greens, one chopped avoacdo, one can of black beans (rinsed), half a cup of corn and one grilled chicken breast, chopped. I lightly seasoned the chicken with salt, pepper and chili powder. The combination of flavors, textures and temperatures was just so yummy. I’ll probably be making it for lunch again this week.
OK my loves, let’s make this last week count. Seven days!!!!
GOOD LUCK!

i am at the exact same weight as last week (weird) but lost 0.5% in body fat. i think this is a success given the fact that i attended a family reunion/bbq on saturday night and did not so well on restricting my drinks. and that i had a bag of doritos for lunch yesterday (oops – my way of celebrating your blog anniversary molly!). i exercised every day last week with the exception of sunday.
my goals for next week: same amount of exercise, stick to healthy food, try to only eat out for lunch once, twice max, no starbucks (this will be hard)

I finally had a loss this week! Only a pound (down to 141), but I’m happy. I knew these last five would be tough since I was already close to the lowest weight I’ve ever been. Did really great with training this week too- two days of weight training, 15.5 miles running (including a 7 miler!), 31 miles biking, and 3900 yards swimming. Only 4 more weeks till the triathlon!
Nutrition-wise, I did a little better this week than I have been, although we did go out to dinner at the Melting Pot on Sunday night, which I’m pretty sure is the reason I had only a one pound loss instead of two. Oh well!

Lost 3 pounds at my Friday weigh-in!! Meaning I’m at 20 pounds lost, total, since I started my project at the end of June!! It feels so great! Also, this morning my running buddy and I ran a full mile straight for the first time – four whole laps without any breaks to walk! WOOOOOO! I feel unstoppable today!
Crunches goal: I hit it about 5 of the 7 days. So not awesome, but not awful. This week’s TLM goal: 100 crunches a night, 10 of which have to be sit-ups, PLUS 10 push-ups a night.
Good luck everyone!

Down a half pound from last week’s 134.6 to this week’s 134.2. However, I’ve injured my knee 😦 I see a specialist tomorrow to tell me what the deal is with continuing my bike riding (we’re up to 55.5 miles!) and I started running. I ran 1.5 miles! Which is huge. I haven’t ran since freshman year of college! Go me! Except now I’m in a holding pattern waiting on the specialist 😦
p.s. those special K protein shakes? Delicious meal alternative!

No change for me this week. I was kind of a slacker and going out to eat a few times with friends to celebrate our engagement. I’m happy I didn’t gain any weight. This week, I’m definitely getting back on the food wagon (and tracking my food helps so much) and it’s my goal to get out of the house to at least walk, perhaps run if it cools off 3 times. 🙂

I’m up to 1220 workout minutes for the month (my goal is 2000). Had a great long weekend in Maine with the husband’s family — if we weren’t eating ice cream, we were either hiking, biking, swimming, or kayaking! No idea about my weight – haven’t seen a scale in a while (we don’t own one, but my gym does), so I’ll report back about that next week. Keep up the good work everyone! :o)

Gah.
Lost 1lb. BUT I had an exercise lapse of 4 days so I suppose that makes sense. That and a visit from my sister that included slurpees and ice cream. Hmmm, maybe that 1lb isn’t so bad. 🙂
Had a great run this morning and am back on track – see you next week!

I’m down .8 lbs. Now, if I could only motivate myself to actually go to the gym. Definitely slacking there. Maybe next week…

Lost 1 pound this week – but after my 2 lb gain last week, I’m still up 1 lb. Meh! Trying to stay on track and keep up with workouts. Filling up all my snack time with fruits and walking/moving as much as I can in my daily routine.

I have had some great workouts over the past week, and my scale yesterday (I forgot this morning) was down 2 pounds from my start of 135. So though I had hoped to meet a goal of 5lbs, I’m accepting that I’m probably at or around my “set point” range and best off focusing on healthy eating and lifestyle as compared with the number on the scale. My biggest focus for the next 2 weeks will be getting quality sleep (despite my wedding excitement and crazy work load!).

I’m at 129 (down 5 pounds total since we started)! I’ve been doing a great job staying on track with running and calories, but have lately really been craving the evening glass of wine. Been working on the willpower there. A couple birthday dinners this week, so I hope nothing gets derailed.
Don’t worry about the scale, Molly. The satisfaction of making progress in being healthy is fantastic enough. My ultimate goal is to be down 15 pounds total by October 23, but I wouldn’t mind 20. Thanks again for the support and motivation! I appreciate all the time you spend updating everyone’s results. By the way, your salad recipe sounds yummy. 🙂

Well, I don’t know how it is really happening, but I am down a total of 7 pounds since we started. I’m very happy, but realize another 7 or so would make me a lot happier, so I will indeed continue. I hope I’ll hit one mor pound gone by next week to make my challenge goal–I am photographing two weddings this weekend, so I won’t be eating much and will be on my feet all day, I might just sweat off that last pound!
I have two things I think are really helping:
I’m using the ipod/iphone app called Lose it–just a very cool visual accounting of plain old calories and exercise. It’s nothing you couldn’t do online or with a notebook if you don’t have a mobile device for this app, but I do love it. It makes me think a lot about portion control.
About half the days I am drinking a protein shake from Arbonne, and I like it because it doesn’t have a lot of the not-so-good additives and oils and chemicals of all the other “meal-replacement” shakes out there. It is botanically based and has pea protein, and really fills me up, plus it helps when I am running out the door and might have skipped a meal, which means I would have pigged out later. Everything in balance!
Good luck all!

Continuously Changing
I have done well this week, started a new 5 k training program. I have been tracking my calories. Switched from coffee with tons of cream to coffee with a little cream. Have hit my 70+ ounces of water a day every day.
I don’t think i’ll be into my size 6 jeans in 7 days, but i’m sure i’ll be a little closer and stay right on track to fitting into them in no time!
Congratulations to everyone! You’re doing so well.

I got engaged last Thursday (!!!) and have done nothing but celebrate since then. So that means, eating out, lots of wine (and other drinks), and not making it to the gym. I didn’t even weigh myself this week, so I have no idea where I’m at. But I figured, you only get engaged (hopefully at least!) once and I’m not going to stress out about the fact that I’m not losing weight. I’m back to it today (hitting the gym for 45 minutes). And I plan to continue making small goals like this for myself for the next year before the wedding. Thanks again for getting this Challenge together Molly!

Yeah, so I definitely didn’t see the comments here at the bottom and I updated on The Challenge’s main page too. Oh well. Here are my updates!
I only went to Curves twice last week, but I went for an hour-long walk and played with a 45 pound kid for a few hours to make up for it (throwing her in the air is a workout!). Doing ok on the eating-less-cookies thing, and when I went home this weekend, my family said I’m looking thinner! Bonus!

Oh, man that reeeeeally sucks. I’m so sorry! I hate it when it does that, and you’re already doing a ton of work on this project as it is.
Anyway, since I emailed you on Monday, I started a new job, so I’ve been running around and not eating as much. And since I eat so much, I’ve actually lost weight in the past 2 days! Now, I’m going to go celebrate my first day of school and spoil it with some awesome cheese fries!
Plus my bridesmaid dress came in and it’s too big. Guess losing too much weight now wouldn’t be the best idea!

So I’m seriously slacking, and I probably won’t make my goal. I did do my strength training this week three times: arm exercises, lunges/squats and lots of ab burning workouts. I always seem to be able to find an excuse to hesitate too long to do my workouts. I want the hot bod and be all toned up but I can’t seem to get my act together and work for it.
I would like to introduce some running as my cardio, but I start school on Monday so we’ll see what happens.

I freakin’ gained a lb last week! Kinda serves me right for not exercising and being chill on the nutrition front. I just switched to day shift as of yesterday, so things are going somewhat better. I’ve already went walking today and have plans for the gym after work!

I am only down .4 more, for a total of 2.4 pounds. 😦 Definitely not as much as I would like, but a loss is a loss!

I haven’t been doing the weight loss challenge, but I just wanted to add this: Being females, I know we obsess about the number we see on the scale, but people shouldn’t be getting down on themselves because of the number. If you’re looking good, you’re looking good…eating healthy and exercising regularly will get you to where you want to be. 🙂

I had a good week… Kicked up my cardio… my walking buddy came back to town…so we have started walking together again–walking with friends is soooooo much better than doing it solo!
I have continued on eating ‘healthy’…small portion sizes…of things I want to eat… ie) if i want icecream—I make myself a ‘kids’ sized cone…instead of having a cereal bowl full!
My goal for the last week of the ‘official’ TLM’s Challenge is try to get enough sleep–between 8-10hours (minimum)…it’s starting to get dark again–and I’ve had a horrible time adjusting to darkness to sleep!! (I live in the Arctic and have just stopped the 24hour light)! You need to get enough sleep or your body wont’ loose weight!! 🙂
All the best to my fellow challengers this last week!! 🙂
