Thank you all for participating in that last post. I tried to respond to all of you! I am fascinated by how diverse my readership is — you come from all over! And what beautiful descriptions of your home.
No drawn out post today…I’m getting right to my question! In the movie of your life, which song would play in the opening scene?
Mine is hijacked right out of the movies, but I couldn’t have it any other way.
For me, no question, it would be Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees. Is there anything better than those first beats? How can you not strut? Of course, my strut would be in high heels carrying a diaper bag rather than paint cans, but still. I could be strapped into restraints and I’d still find a way to shake something if that song came on.
It was the first song to get everyone on the dance floor at my wedding. (It worked!)

So, what would your opening song be? It’s hard, isn’t it?!

I think I’ll be ridiculous and say Christmas Eve Sarajevo by TransSiberian Orchestra. Bit moody, bit frantic, bit celebratory, all around (hopefully!) good.

I love your questions!
Mine would be The Secret of Life by James Taylor; a little bit of a slow beat but something you can sway to! My father and I danced to this at our wedding. Best line: “The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time.”

My first thought was “Firefight” by Jimmy Eat World but I’m not sure that really sets up the story right. I also have always thought “Believe me Natalie” by the Killers would make a good movie song.

I would have to say Another One Bites the Dust. I never want to own it. It’s a song I like to hear out of the blue and then sing it with the windows down!!!

mine would have to be Ants Marching by Dave Matthews Band- the opening drum bit and the dance-ability of the song, not to mention the meaning for me would be just perfect!

Hi! I am a long time “lurker” – I love your blog and really started following it when we were pregnant at the same time. I actuallly had my little guy the day after you!
My opening credit would have to be The Luckiest by Ben Folds… it was our wedding song and just one that gets me everytime… slow yes… but oh so meaningful!

I forgot to respond to the last post, so I figured I would take some time outta work to respond to this one. I think that the one I am thinking of is “You’re Gonna Miss This” although I am not sure who sings it. I am forever wishing things would hurry up and happen, but when I think about it, things are pretty awesome and everything goes by so fast! Not only do I love that song, it fits me perfectly!

Right Back Where We Started From by Maxine Nightingale. Definitely, without hesitation. I’m not sure it would make for good opening credits, but this song means pure joy to me. And life should be fun!

This is a really tough question! And usually I would say something upbeat like Staying Alive. But you know what the first thing that popped into my head when I read the question was? Standing Outside the Fire by Garth Brooks. Which is so weird because I’m not at all a big country fan and barely listen to any Garth Brooks but my friend used to play that song all the time in college and now just listening to it again, it’s perfect.

Mine would have to be “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey. That song got everyone up and dancing at our wedding too! Plus an all-time fav of mine!! 🙂

I think I’m jumping on the Journey bandwagon. Can’t go wrong with that! And I am, just a small town girl after all! 😀

OK so Lauren took it but Don’t Stop Believin’ is definitely top 5 favorite songs…not sure if it would be the opener, but it would be in there somewhere.

My musical taste changes so drastically so often. Currently, I’d say it’s Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes. Mostly because we just walked back down the aisle as a married couple to it. 🙂

I think I would have to pick America by Simon and Garfunkel, I do alot of traveling and it just seems to fit the lifestyle.

Oh! Ants Marching! That’s a good one! So is Don’t Stop Believin’ (which is totally “my song” with my BFFs).
For me, though, I’d go with something a little less mainstream. “You Made It” by DJ Shadow. A little haunting, a little hopeful and a little unique.

I would probably go with a country oldie – “Don’t she look good when she smiles” by Bob Anderson

Ok, this IS hard! Its hard to pick a song that would intro a movie to my life. Part of me wants to lean towards something sappy because I feel so blessed but the only song that I keep hearing over and over in my head is “I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyed Peas. Not that I think everynight is “going to be a big night,” but just because its such a fun song and its the first song my little boy danced to!

The top song that is on the sound track to my life is “Time in a Bottle” by Jim Croce – it captures my relationship with my hubby – he is everything I ever wanted, I wish for no one else, he has answered by prayers/dreams/wishes for giving and receiving love! and we both get teary eyes when we listen to that song, I can’t sing along to it because I always get a lump in my throat when I hear it (so corny, but it is true!)

I would go with Everything by Michael Buble. It is hopeful and happy and sweet and a little devilish.

It is such a silly song… but I would have to say “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard” by Simon & Garfunkel…the Mama Pajama line gets me everytime…and I always find myself dancing when I hear it…no matter WHAT mood I am in… even after I have been up all night with a sick baby…
