Since the February blahs are in full swing, let’s have some fun and get to know each other better. An unofficial delurking day. Fun!
Last time I did one I was introduced to so many great new blogs that I still read so if you write, be sure to link back to yourself so I can check you out.
Leave a comment and answer this question: what’s your guilty pleasure song?
Come on, we all have one. Mine? Well there’s actually a bunch, but Usher’s You Make Me Wanna brings me right back to middle school and makes Michael look at me like a weirdo when I sing it…knowing all the words!
Your turn! Can’t wait to see!

It’s a no brainer – my guilty pleasure song is “I wanna dance” by Whitney Houston. There’s something about turning that song up and belting out the lyrics that takes all my troubles away!! I might have to queue it up on iTunes right now!

The two most played songs on my itunes (by like, a LOT) are “Your Not Sorry” and “Fearless” by Taylor Swift. Yeah, she’s totally my guilty pleasure.

Almost anything by Hanson. Also, I just added every Backstreet Boys song ever to my iTunes. And I am hopelessly in love with Eminem – Sarah’s right, he’s perfect to run to.

I’d have to say “Don’t wanna miss a thing” makes my heart melt like a little school girl. Just started reading your blog so I don’t know much about you, but I like what I’ve read so far!

The most popular songs on my iPod are Lady Gaga. I listened to SO MUCH Lady Gaga when I was pregnant that I often wondered if it’d have an effect… and for the first few months of his life, Nate would cry when she came on. Hahaha, so opposite effect – he hated her. LOL Now he doesn’t care. 🙂

I have a feeling my overwhelming love for the Backstreet Boys counts as a guilty pleasure in itself, but if I had to list one particular song that makes me cringe to admit I like it, it’s probably Stroke 9’s “Little Black Backpack”. Takes me back to high school drama camp. I don’t even know why we listended to that song nonstop that summer, but we did and we were embarrassed about it even then!

“Pour Some Sugar on Me” is definitely my guilty pleasure song. It brings back memories of watching MTV when I was 8 years old (and NOT supposed too!), you know when MTV played videos! It always makes me want to grab my girlfriend’s hands, run onto the dance floor and shake a bottle! 🙂

I have soooooooooo many guilty pleasure songs. In fact, I have a whole guilty pleasure genre. Two in fact: First, I love, love, love old school R&B slow jams. Think Jodeci and Shai and H-Town and more. Second (and I’m really ashamed of this one) – I love Miami Bass/Booty Shake music that’s really, terribly demeaning to women. 2 Live Crew and the like.
These are both relics of having come of age in the early 90s and living in a predominantly black neighborhood.
I can’t help it though, this music takes me back!

Hanging my head in shame. It’s a tie between “We Belong Together” by Mariah Carey or (gasp) “Big Girls Don’t Cry” by Fergie. Don’t tell anyone!
PS – I’ve been reading TLM since the day you posted your proposal story (it was featured as a “top post” by wordpress that day!

Okay, so mostly I really enjoy folk type music with songs that are slow and accousticy even though I am always a fan of any music that I grew up with too. Anyway, my biggest guilty pleasure though is any top 40/rap and especially when I’m running. Eminem, Snoop Dog, Lady GaGa, Ice T baby 99 baby…..I could go on and on. That music is what keeps me pumped and going during my runs and I CANNOT WAIT to run again after I pop this baby out. I miss it a lot.

I fully embrace and enjoy all my music, silly or no. That being said, I will often turn the music down if someone comes in while I’m listening to Britney Spears.

WAY too many to mention…you know, the ones that they play on the speakers at CVS or Michael’s and you just can’t help but sing along with? I like those for my guilty pleasure music. I’ll go one further and give out extra bonus points for dancing/singing or acting out the video right there in the aisle…:) LOL!

Hi Molly! I love your blog – sorry I’ve ben lurking around for so long! My guilty pleasure songs are anything from Phantom of the Opera. I’m not typically a broadway music lover – I like more alternative and classic rock – but if Phantom of the Opera comes on, I can’t resist singing along! Also, anything 80s, but I’m not ashamed to admit that 🙂

Been reading your blog for quite some time but I comment kind of regularly… I think. 🙂 My guilty pleasure song would have to be anything by Rhianna, a lot of her songs are kinda lude, more than I prefer but I can’t help but sing along every time one of her songs comes on the radio.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s. I don’t remember who sings it, but one day wayyyyy back in 7th or 8th grade I was singing it under my breath and my best friend totally caught me and laughed her ass off…to this day she still remembers. She even posted the other day that they were watching that movie and her boyfriend started singing it and she busted out laughing and though of me…sad thing is. I love that song!!!!!

Hmmmm, anything on Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle. Takes me right back to High School. Yesterday, Ain’t No Fun came on the pandora station we were listening to and we had a family dance party with the 10 month old… Not quite the message I’d like to instill in my child, but what can you do? Any of those songs come on and I have to sing at the top of my lungs- balls, bitches and hos be darned.

You are going to be really busy reading all of these blogs! mine is http://www.alisonleeds.com
I’m not sure what classifies a song a guilty pleasure. Something you’d be embarrassed if someone caught you listening to it?
I suppose All For The Best from Godspell! The movie version, because I love Victor Garber. I’m big on musicals but not big on religion, but this song just makes me really happy.

No blog here. Delurked to you before. I am an older reader of your blog and enjoy watching your life unfold. The songs I like are older ones of course so perhaps they are all guilty songs. A comfort song to me is something like Watching the River Run by Loggins and Messina (would have to google them I think),

My guilty pleasure song has to be Usher’s “Yeah!” because it brings me back to my college days! A close second would have to be Kanye’s “Gold Digger”.
Unfortunately neither one of these really works in place of “rock-a-bye baby” or any other lullabye…which are generally permeating our speakers these days 🙂

Wow umm, I guess “too little too late” by JoJo is pretty embarassing… But I just love to sing along to it whilst jumping around my room. You know how it is….
I have been reading your blog since I first started reading blogs, and you have stayed the course. I’ve never been much for commenting but I always wonder how you’re doing when you don’t post for a while.

Why must I sing along to “December 1963 (Oh, What a night)”? I don’t know, but I can’t not sing along. I like the remix version even better than the original. Isn’t music funny the way it hits us?

Lately, my guilty pleasure has been “Baby” by Justin Bieber. My 20 month old loves it and asks for it all the time. And now I like it, too! I have the Bieber fever.
